District Administrator Michael Stickeln and Police Director Christian Brenski welcomed the so-called replacement on Friday and wished him every success in his new role.
The ceremonial welcome in the auditorium of the district hall was accompanied by music from the brass section of the NRW state police orchestra.
18 of the new officers have just completed their bachelor's degree and are now gaining their first professional experience in the Höxter district as newly appointed inspectors. Most of them will find their first assignment in patrol duty at the police stations in Höxter, Warburg and Bad Driburg, where they will work alongside experienced colleagues. Some of them will start their career directly with the criminal investigation department.
Five others already have police experience from other authorities and have deliberately transferred to the Höxter district police authority. A new employee from the Höxter district administration was also welcomed, who is moving to the personnel department of the police authority.
Some of the new police officers come from the Höxter district, but some also come from completely different regions of North Rhine-Westphalia: "Even if the Höxter district was not at the top of some people's wish list," said District Administrator Michael Stickeln in his welcome address, "you will soon learn to appreciate the advantages and special features of our cultural district." After all, the Höxter district is a good and safe place to live, and statistically, the Höxter district is one of the safest regions in NRW. "Ensuring that this remains the case will be part of your new responsible task. The people of the Höxter district are behind you and are proud of their police force."
