Daily police work not only requires certainty of action and legal certainty, but also an inner compass that is aligned with the values of the free democratic basic order. The "Center for Ethical Education and Pastoral Care in the NRW Police" (ZeBuS) has set itself the task of providing such professional ethical orientation. A public "teaser exhibition" in the foyer of the Höxter district administration provides an insight into the value-oriented work of the NRW police.
At the opening of the exhibition, District Administrator Michael Stickeln welcomed representatives of the Höxter district police authority and ZeBuS, who had travelled to the Weser from Selm for the occasion.
The police profession regularly presents employees with moral challenges, explained exhibition organizer Andre Mönsters, explaining the background. It is not only in conflict situations that police officers have to make far-reaching decisions very quickly. "Police officers find themselves in borderline situations, fall into routines, experience emotions and have experiences that can influence their perceptions and decisions."
At this point, ZeBuS wants to support all police officers with ethical education programs: "How can we succeed in remaining professional and morally upright?" The permanent offers include the exhibitions "Grenzgang" and "UnRecht & Ordnung" as well as the reflection rooms "Kraftraum" and "Raum der Stille". The mobile teaser exhibition, which can be seen during the usual opening hours of the district administration in Höxter, provides an initial overview of the offers and provides food for thought on the topic.
The core element of the exhibition is a triangular steel construction with rotating graphic cubes that give an impression of the many subject areas of ZeBuS. Further information is available at the touch of a button on an information pillar and on a monitor with short films.
District Administrator Michael Stickeln was delighted that the mobile exhibition, which is on tour throughout North Rhine-Westphalia, is now making a stop in Höxter and hopes that many people will be interested in finding out more about the topic.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Höxter district police authority PR Sven Harrsen (deputizing for the head of the police department), EPHK Sebastian Müller (head of Höxter police station), Norbert Sentler (staff council), KOKin Franziska Seck (deputy commissioner for extremism), Annemarie KOKin (deputy commissioner for extremism), Annemarie KOKin (deputy commissioner for extremism), Annemarie KOKin (deputy commissioner for extremism) and Annemarie KOKin (deputy commissioner for extremism).
