On Sunday, April 28, the traffic services of the Paderborn and Höxter district police authorities carried out a joint check on the L 755 between the villages of Langeland and Altenbeken (Rehberg). The aim of the check on this "motorcycle route" was to make motorcyclists aware of the special dangers and requirements for motorcyclists at the start of the 2024 motorcycle season.
In addition to the various checks, the emergency services conducted a large number of consistently friendly and awareness-raising discussions with motorcyclists.
In addition to technical checks, however, speed checks were carried out on both sides of the Rehberg, during which some infringements were also detected.
The motorcycle season will be interrupted for two motorcyclists, however, as they will have to expect driving bans in the foreseeable future due to their speed.
One of the driving bans involved a 47-year-old BMW rider who was traveling uphill from the direction of Langeland at a speed of 126 km/h with a speed limit of 70 km/h. After deducting the tolerance of 4 km/h, the speed limit was exceeded by 52 km/h. He can expect a fine of EUR 480, two points and a driving ban of one month.
A total of 18 violations (8 administrative offenses, ten warnings) were detected and three inspection reports were also issued.
For a joint photo in the spirit of the nationwide traffic prevention campaign -#LEBEN-, a motorcyclist posed at the checkpoint to be photographed together with officers from Paderborn and Höxter.
The group photo shows, from left to right: PHK Wieczorek, POKin Bulu (both VD Paderborn), Kawasak rider Sören Bade (26 years old), FOS trainee John Luc Hildebrandt (VD Höxter, 16 years old), PK Göppert (VD Paderborn) and PHKin Theresa Arendes (VD Höxter).
